KJOB USA
1. Build a U.S.-style resume around evidence
Start with the job you want, then make every bullet prove relevant impact. Use a simple format, put recent experience first, and replace duty-only phrases with outcomes: volume handled, defects reduced, cycle time improved, customers supported, revenue influenced, or projects delivered. Avoid photos, age, marital status, and unrelated personal details. Keep dates, titles, locations, and employment type accurate.
2. Read the posting before you apply
Separate true requirements from preferences. Check location, shift, travel, employment type, salary range, language needs, and whether sponsorship is explicitly mentioned. Match the terminology of the role only when it truthfully describes your experience. A focused application is stronger than sending the same resume to every opening.
3. Prepare interview stories before the call
Prepare short examples covering a difficult problem, teamwork, a mistake and recovery, process improvement, conflict, and a measurable win. Explain the situation, what you personally did, and the result. For bilingual roles, describe when you used Korean and English at work rather than simply listing bilingual ability.
4. Treat work authorization and sponsorship as precise facts
“Visa sponsorship available” and “all visa types supported” are not interchangeable. Confirm what the employer actually offers and what applies to your status. OPT, STEM OPT, H-1B, J-1 and employment-based permanent residence have different rules and employer obligations. For immigration decisions, use current USCIS guidance and qualified legal counsel.
5. Review the whole offer, not only base pay
Compare base salary or hourly rate together with expected hours, overtime classification, bonus, health coverage, retirement benefits, paid time off, relocation, work location, shift, travel and any repayment conditions. Ask for material terms in writing before making a major move or resigning from another position.
Put the guide into practice
Search current approved openings, then tailor your resume to the role you actually want.
